Lets face it none of us actually need more stuff in the west, we’re pretty comfortable from a material standpoint any way, wanting is a bottomless pit, and sadly stuff doesn’t make us happy. When I try to find what is true and intrinsically of value in all this want it’s the desire to have a home, and for this home to be a place of nourishment so we are fortified to give more to our world. There’s also an intrinsic delight and value in creating beauty, or rather tapping into the natural harmonies, this can be truly uplifting and wonderful, to build something that lasts using precious resources in a contentious, respectful and responsible way. To build something delightful that works really well. To rise to the design challenge and ask what does this intrinsically want to be and be carried to a place of harmony and inspiration, that’s great and what I love about this work. And like this home that I help you realize this business becomes a place of refuge supporting me to give more to our world.

Perma culture which is actually well worth investigating as a design principle that's applicable to anything. It would be very cool to see where it leads you with business and economics. For me it starts with the question of what does this thing want to be... and it's not really that groovy it's more about tapping into the natural flow... path of least resistance whatever way you frame it as long as it in a multiple bottom line sense not just about the profit we've seen where that's gotten us... I'm actually going to forward you a very cool article shows how multiple bottom line thinking is actually the best thing you can do for the traditional bottom line... anyways back to perma culture... springing from the question of what does this want to be... comes, what relationships need to be cultivated to nurture this along. Now i invite you to imagine how amazing the development of the little piece of land in Quebec could be if you start from these questions... and how amazing anything could be if it grows from this type of intention, how it might fit into raising a child... It's not that I feel like perma culture is the answer I just think it's a nice prism to look through cause it's got a language that to me taps into something about the natural laws and harmonies in an accessible way... anyways nice to write about it and share it with you cause i get to see where I'm at and have a chance to articulate it With dramatic increases in energy costs becoming an annual occurrence, many of our clients have come to realize that building in an environmentally friendly manner also means making smart decisions that translate into financial savings over time.
